Paid Summer Internship

New this summer Indian Lake Camp is looking to hire 6-8 interns to run camp programming.  These interns will need to be God loving, adventure seeking, hardworking and willing to stretch their boundaries!  In the past Indian Lake has relied on volunteers to run all the activities, now we are hiring summer staff to run the program stations.  If you have a passion to teach kids, then this job is for you!

Summer schedule plans for 9 weeks of camp and 1 week of training for a total of 10 weeks starting June 14ththrough August 22nd.  The last weekend (9/20-22) will be a retreat debrief weekend!

You will be trained in CPR, facilitation skills, group dynamics, relationship building and growing your walk with Christ and much more.

You will receive room and board along with a stipend of $2000 for the full summer.  If you cannot stay the full summer, please let us know the dates and we can work around prorating the stipend.  We want to work with your schedule and still keep camp covered, so please tell us your needs as soon as possible!

Interns will be responsible for running activities like archery/slingshot, large group, worship, zipline/swing, recreation, crafts, social media, videography etc.  Not all interns will run all the stations, but it will depend your preferences, skill set, and camp need as to where you work!  This is an opportunity for you to try new things and build or sharpen some skills.  There will be free time built into your schedule and time off every Friday night and Saturdays.

How camp days will run this year is also different than in the past.  Each cabin group or day camp group will be a cohort.  Each cohort will consist of up to 10 campers, with 1-2 CITs (Counselors in Training) and 1-2 adult volunteers.  The cohorts do not get to mix with other groups and will travel to different activities throughout the day.  Your job will be to run the activities!  For example, the volunteers will bring their group to the craft cabin and you, the intern, will lead the group through the craft.  Each day will be different, but you will have some free time throughout the day depending on the activities you are running.  You will stay with 1-2 other interns in either our newly renovated Cabin 7 or the Cook’s cabin.  You would be asked to wear a mask when indoors or less than 6 feet apart from others.  Campers and volunteers within their cohort are not required to wear masks.
